In September 2003, Governor George Pataki signed the Child Performer Education and Trust Act. New York is currently considering an amendment to the bill, strengthening certain core provisions.
In July 2005, Governor Kathleen Blanco of Louisiana signed SB 158, making trust accounts and on-set education the law of the state.
Discussions are underway in the state of New Jersey to pass legislation similar to provisions in the New York bill.
